PROJECT GRIFFON (Gyps Fulvus)

In our centre we were able to reproduce the griffons (Gyps Fulvus). With a lot of passion we tried to create a natural habitat. Our birds of prey liked it and on April 24, 1999 they had a baby bird, Axel. During 54 days, Axels parents breeded their egg. But when the egg was almost open the parents continued to breed without feeding their baby.

So we decided to substitute the parents. The first two weeks were the most difficult: under strict control and without sleeping.

With our care we were able to grow the little bird and to see his first fly. To watch Axel flying in the open sky has been one of our most intensive emotions.

PROJECT ROYAL OWL (Bubo Bubo)

We also take care of the babies of the Royal Owl, one of Europe’s bigges bird of prey. Acctually we work on a project to re-integrate this bird in its natural habitat

This night bird of prey is able to control the balance of other small animals like rats and mice. He catches other little birds and small sick animals. So the species will be selected and grow stronger.

la quale ne sustenta et governa,
et produce diversi fructi con coloriti fior et herba.

Laudato si', mi Signore, per quelli che perdonano per lo Tuo amore
et sostengono infermitate et tribulatione.

Beati quelli che 'l sosterranno in pace,
cha da Te, Altissimo, sirano incoronati.

Laudato si' mi Signore, per sora nostra Morte corporale,
da la quale nullu homo vivente pò scappare:
guai a quelli che morrano ne le peccata mortali;
